Peer Support
DIN provides confidential peer support to employees affected by disabilities or neurodevelopmental conditions. Support includes guidance on self-identity, disclosure, requesting reasonable accommodations, and navigating newly acquired or diagnosed disabilities.
Peer support represents a significant part of DIN’s work and is offered in a confidential and respectful manner.
Advocacy and Guidance
DIN serves as a voice for personnel affected directly or indirectly by disabilities. The Network works with:
- Human resources departments
- Management
- Staff councils
DIN provides recommendations on accessibility, communication, recruitment processes, and workplace practices.
Accessibility and Inclusion
DIN offers feedback and insights on accessibility of:
- Buildings
- Websites
- Conferences and events
This includes participation in assessments and initiatives across the VIC to improve workplace accessibility.
Awareness and Events
DIN raises awareness through workshops, expert discussions, and events addressing disability and neurodiversity, contributing to a more inclusive organizational culture.
Schooling
DIN envisions a better schooling environment for all children of VBO staff (and embassies/diplomatic missions in Vienna) – with a special focus on children with disabilities.
